How much carbon is emitted to produce your solar PV modules? This is an important question which project developers, installers, investors, government agencies and end-customers will ask solar PV suppliers in the future. To answer it, suppliers need to know the direct emissions from the manufacturing process, as well as those generated from activities of the upstream supply chain (including raw material acquisition, upstream energy use, packaging, transportation, and procurement), and also arising from module usage and eventually recycling. We are pleased to announce that EuPD Research and Deutsche CleanTech Institute are jointly launching Carbon Consulting Services for the PV solar industry. Our services can support you with acquiring third-party certification, setting up a Carbon Management System, and distributing whitepapers about your low-carbon best practices.
Benefits of a Trustworthy Carbon Footprint Certification:
- Create an effective USP and market differentiator
- Increase sales (Product CO2 footprint certificate is a decisive buying argument)
- Reduce overhead cost (energy management leads up to 10% cost reduction in the first year)
- Pro-actively prepared for upcoming legislation and mandatory reporting requirements
- Respond to requests from investors (Carbon Disclosure

EuPD Research / DCTI Clean Tech Carbon Consulting EuPD Research and DCTI provide expert guidance and act as process leaders in implementing company CO2 footprint verification, Carbon Management, and Product CO2 Footprint Certificates. The Carbon Consulting team has in-depth experience in Carbon Management and Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) of PV technologies (e.g. thin film, crystalline silicon, and CdTe) in particular. Team members have published several articles in leading scientific journals such as Progress-In-Photovoltaics. Examples of successful projects are, the implementation of a Carbon Management System for a major Swedish truck manufacturer, achieving the highest ranking in the Dutch CO2 performance ladder for a multi-billion Dutch construction company, an Energy Management Plan for a major Dutch international supermarket chain, and determining the life-cycle CO2 emissions of a major a-Si PV based turn-key equipment supplier.
