The question of how market research is used in the German B2B segment, is at present largely unanswered in scientific literature. For this reason, the B2B market research firm EuPD Research, based in Bonn, raised the issue in the form an explorative business survey. For the “B2B Market Research in Germany” survey, explorative interviews based on a partly standardized questionnaire were conducted with 52 medium to large market research and marketing firms in Germany. The results of the study give the first systematic insight into the status of B2B market research and convey practical recommendations for the implementation of operational market research. The survey design is based on a new designed model for research management, which helps firms generate maximum profits through the use of market research.
