In this update of the third study about photovoltaics in Spain, EuPD Research examines the current state and future development of what is the biggest solar market worldwide at present. Thanks to ideal natural conditions and high remuneration for electricity fed into the electrical grid, the market grew by more than 470 percent in 2007 - based for the main part on large ground-mounted plants.
With the favorable promotion conditions expiring in September 2008 and the months of uncertainty regarding a new law prior to this, the Spanish market grew at an unsurpassed rate. The new law has been in place since October 2008 and it is still largely unclear how the market will be affected by the altered conditions. In order to provide decision-makers with detailed information, EuPD Research carried out field research studies among the most important market participants.
The study sheds light on the new promotion conditions and delivers comprehensive insights into the present stage of development of the Spanish PV market on a national and regional level as well as the current and likely future segmentation. In addition, readers obtain information on the distribution of PV components. Finally, illustrations of the development of module and complete system prices and a forecast of the market development up to 2012 complete the study.
